Hallo, Deutschland

The first week of July I took a three week trip to Stuttgart, Germany. My cousin Deja lives there now, so I visited her and we explored around the city. I have to tell you all — it did not disappoint! If you ever have a chance to visit, please do! There’s something to see everywhere you turn!

One of the shopping centers in Stuttgart is so pretty! (At least I thought it was!) All the names of the stores are located at higher levels and there’s so many stores to shop at. Not to mention, Starbucks! Can’t ever visit a city without making a stop at Starbucks πŸ™‚ And Stuttgart also has amazing restaurants and cafes to visit. My cousin and I stopped at Italian restaurant one day and ordered a huge pizza bombarded with mushrooms–no disappointments, no regrets!

The city is also always packed with people, which I thought was pretty stellar πŸ™‚ it reminded me a lot of Chicago and that made it a million times cooler! Also, the building pictured above caught my eye right away because of it’s gorgeous, colorful poles! And this area has various cafes to grad coffee and food.

How cool is this car?! As my cousin and I were walking around Stuttgart, I noticed how they have monuments and certain attractions that make the city stand out, such as this timeless car! Definitely don’t see these everywhere! Big points for Stuttgart πŸ™‚

Mercedes-Benz Meuseum

Stuttgart is also home to the Mercedes-Benz Museum. It is seriously so phenomenal! Not only does the inside look awesome, but the outside of the building is beautiful too! The shape of the building is so unusual, yet stunning! And once inside, you get to view older models of cars all the way to the most recent ones. Do not skip the chance to visit this place if you’re ever in Stuttgart!

Another beautiful part of Stuttgart πŸ™‚ And I have this amazing soul to thank for showing me around this wonderful city!

My three weeks in Stuttgart were definitely well spent and I’d definitely visit again in a heartbeat!

New Adventures

But first, Coffee

I went to Brewpoint Coffee for the first time today and decided to try one of their customized design lattes. See below how pretty they made the design πŸ™‚

The atmosphere at this place is seriously so cool and chill. They also have a ton of different lattes. I’ll always & forever be a latte lover. Β However, it’s definitely not limited to just lattes. There’s various different types of coffees they offer! The place gave me this “student” feel because they have books and motivational quotes on their walls and secluded tables along with Wi-Fi. It’s definitely a cute little coffee shop for students, but definitely not limited to students! The place definitely did not disappoint. CHECK. THEM. OUT.

Dance it out, Run it out, Put a Little CARDIO in it!

As I’ve mentioned before, I try to designate Wednesdays for running, but that doesn’t always pan out, but today it did! At first I did some dancing around the house because, come on, you cannot go wrong with dancing! I’ll let let you in on a secret of mine (or two!): I dance around the kitchen. A lot of the time when I’m putting away the dishes, I’ll bring my phone and crank up the music, and dance as well! And when I’m not dealing with dishes and my coffee or tea is brewing, I’ll just dance. No shame in my game! You get some cardio in for the day and, let’s face it, you have fun! And you can dance like no one’s watching. Win-win! After I caught up on some Grey’s Anatomy (I’ve managed to binge watch a whole season in three days — go me!), I went and ran outside.

How does everyone feel about running on uneven concrete? My dad once told me that the unevenness of it is good for you because it gives variety when you run. I’ve been running on uneven concrete in this location for maybe five years now and I absolutely love that the concrete goes from downhill to uphill to even… it’s great! But as you all know, I also like running on an even, sandy path around a lake. Nature is seriously wonderful. Get out there and enjoy it!

Excuses don’t get results.

Try New Things, Go New Places

Last night Tiffany and I went to Uncle Julio’s. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve seen her so I was super duper excited for us to hang out! As always, we ordered a bunch of food and caught each other up on our lives. I’ve said this a gazillion times now, but I’ll always be thankful to Elmhurst College for introducing us. Friends like her are most definitely rare!

I have to definitely mention how delicious the food is here! We went with chicken nachos [that were to die for] for an appetizer, and let me tell ya, no regrets! And then we got tacos as our main meal. Someone [ME!!!] never says no to tacos because they’re SO yummy! We also decided to try Uncle Julio’s famous chocolate pinata. It was definitely interesting (see the aftermath below!)! You hit the pinata and then all these treats [churros, pineapple, blackberries, strawberries, and pineapple] fall out. TRY IT! If you’re asking if I recommend this place? Hell yeah! Go, go, go!

Move it or Lose it!

I decided to start today with a run because, as mentioned before, I’ve dedicated Wednesdays to running. That doesn’t always happen, but I try to be committed. The weather was perfect — about sixty — and the breeze wasn’t too shabby either. There’s just something about running–it’s therapeutic, burns fat, and makes you feel great! At least this is how I see it πŸ™‚ Run one lap around a track with a lake and maybe you’ll see what I’m talking about!

After, I decided to up my cardio by running on the treadmill and various exercises off the treadmill! Switching it up is key because if you’re always doing the same exercises, your body gets used to it and then has a hard time adjusting to new ones. I’d run a minute on the treadmill and then do quick feet, bridges, jump squats, squat holds, and jumping jacks for a minute. You definitely feel the burn! But it’s also super fun… trust me! πŸ™‚

Remember why you started and don’t give up.
